Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator 98
SETUP.EXE says Flight Simulator 98 (or the Flight Shop Converter) is not
installed on my PC. But it is installed!
The Addit! Pro Setup program uses the Windows registry to locate Flight
Simulator. In the case of Flight Simulator 98, it starts by looking at this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\6.1
InstallDir
The value for this key (InstallDir) is the path to Flight Simulator 98. For example, it
might be C:\Program Files\Flight Simulator 98\. If that value is
incorrect, Setup will not be able to locate FS 98 or the Converter. To check your value,
do this:
- In Windows 95/98 press the Start button. Select Run, type in REGEDIT, then press ENTER.
- Navigate to the key listed above.
- Double click on InstallDir.
- If the folder is wrong, correct it.
- You may also wish to examine and fix InstalledTo and Path.
- Close REGEDIT.
- Re-run the Addit! Pro setup program.
That should do the trick. Another way to solve this problem is to reinstall Flight
Simulator which will update the registry properly.
