Improvements and Changes in Version 3.1.8

Fixed an issue where gauge file dependency data was not being processed correctly.
Fixed a potential problem of an 'invalid procedure call' error when removing sound addons.
Modified the update installation package. If the update program can't find Addit! Pro, you can look for it manually.
Fixed several potential problems that could occur when importing addons having configuration file problems.
Fixed a runtime error that occurred in some MDI windows during resizing. When the main Addit! Pro window was small, and the MDI window was resized, error '384' occurred.

Improvements and Changes in Version 3.1.5

Fixed a bug in the addon import process that caused a 'subscript out of bounds' error in some cases.
Fixed a bug in the addon removal process that caused an 'invalid procedure call' error in some cases.
Updated registration information.
Added a few minor tweaks.

Improvements and Changes in Version 3.1.4

Addon Management

Added the ability to import addons. This feature allows existing Flight Simulator addons to be fully integrated into Addit! Pro. The import process is customizable and allows filtering based on several criteria. The final import file list can even be edited.
Improved removal of gauge and wav files. All existing aircraft, panels and sounds are checked when a shared gauge or wav file is removed to determine if it is safe to delete the file. Earlier, only addons installed by Addit! Pro were checked.
Added ability to remove addon records without deleting the installed files.
Added confirmation dialog when a stock Flight Simulator aircraft, panel or sound is removed (after importing it).
Added support for aircraft texture files created by the new aircraft editing tools like Aircraft Animator/Aircraft Factory 99 from Abacus.
You can now overwrite any file when installing a file that is already a part of a previously installed addon.

Edit Aircraft Window

This window will now be disabled when no aircraft are available.
Improved configuration file processing. Missing gauges and wav files are now detected and reported (note this may detect errors in the configuration files shipped by Microsoft -- that is not a bug, just identification of existing configuration file quirks).
Minimizing the window will now work properly.
Aircraft configuration files containing blank aircraft definitions (i.e. empty [fltsim.x] sections) will not be shown.

Edit/Select Panel Windows

This window will now be disabled when no panels are available.
Improved configuration file processing. Missing gauge files are now detected and reported.

Edit/Select Sound Windows

This window will now be disabled when no sounds are available.
Improved configuration file processing. Missing wav files are now detected and reported.

Fixes

Addressed a Product ID generation issue.
Recompiled/repackaged using the latest files from Microsoft Visual Studio SP-3.
Changed Addit! Pro's startup sound effect. Some folks felt the prop engine startup sound did not go well with the Gulfstream IV jet image, for some reason.
Fixed a bug where filenames with apostrophes were causing errors during removal.

Help/Documentation

Updated all documentation to reflect changes in this version.
Added help context links for main menu items. Pressing F1 on these menu items will now bring up contextual help for them.

Added support for Siggy Schwarz's landing lights files. These files will no longer be treated as scenery textures.
Updated the look of the Addon Wizard. It had still been using outdated images from FS 95.
Validation for aircraft, panel and sound configuration files has been improved. More problems are now detected and reports can be accessed from the Edit Aircraft, Edit Panels and Edit Sounds windows.
Improved handling of imbedded zip files (i.e. zip files within zip files). You no longer need to extract the contents of imbedded zip files before working with them. Now, simply access all files at all levels directly.
Assigning pictures to aircraft and panels is now easier to understand.
The new Select File dialog is used when assigning a picture from a disk file to an aircraft or panel.
Improved overall error detection and warnings.

Added an option to clear an aircraft or panel picture. Right click on the picture or select the aircraft and right click.
You can now change a panel’s picture from the Edit Aircraft window. Right click on the picture or select the aircraft and right click.

Added a button to display a configuration file report. The report will list any configuration problems preventing a panel from working properly.

Fixes

Read-only files were not being deleted from temporary folders. This has been corrected.
Certain configurations prevented some windows from closing properly and consequently prevented a clean shutdown. Exiting the program will now work regardless of which windows are displayed.
Updated Microsoft Jet database services from 3.51 to 3.52. Addit! Pro’s database optimization has been modified to conform to 3.52’s single compaction method. This addressed the "table was not found in this collection" issue.
The Edit Aircraft window was erroneously reporting "configuration file does not exist" when some root level panels and sounds were selected. All root level selections can now be made.

Install Addon Wizard – Select Files Window

This Wizard has been overhauled and now uses familiar Windows Explorer functionality.
The file list supports a simple list view and a more detailed view that can shown file sizes, dates, times, attributes, etc.
The zip file list supports a simple list view and a more detailed view that can shown file sizes, dates, times, attributes, compression data, etc.
You can sort the detailed views by any column. Icons can be toggled on and off and columns can be customized and automatically sized to fit the largest item.
An option exists to select all items by default. So, when moving from one folder to another or from one zip to another, all files can be automatically highlighted for you.
A tab called "Recent" may be used to quickly return to previous drives, folders and even files. You can specify how many items to store, sort the list, clear invalid items, and clear all items.
A button called "Full Zip View" can be used to allow direct access to the contents of imbedded zip files (i.e. zip files within zip files). You no longer have to extract imbedded zip files to install them.
Total and free bytes for the selected drive are shown in the status area. If a zip file is selected, total number of items and total size is shown.
The document section now holds more documents and shows the Windows icon for each type.
A Smart Select option can be used to quickly select all panel files, all sound files, all texture files, etc.
You can independently size the folder area, file area, and zip area.

Interface

The old style 3D color elements have been replaced with more stable standard controls.
The tabbed dialog used in the Customize window has been replaced with a more stable tab strip.
During lengthy processes, progress is shown in a new progress bar. The new progress bar is located within the status area of the window. No longer will one magically appear and temporarily shrink the active window.
All interface elements will now use user-defined Windows colors.
Updated splash screen and About window.
Most windows can now be resized using the mouse (or control box menu). Window configurations are retained for the next session.
Windows that can be sized also have a sizing context menu. Right click to access this menu or press F12. The menu includes options for centering the window, increasing its size, decreasing its size, and reverting to the default configuration. Should be very convenient for laptop users.
Several keyboard shortcuts were added to various windows. Pressing F5 will refresh a window, CONTROL-A will select all displayed items, CONTROL-W will bring up the Smart Select feature, and F12 will bring up the window sizing pop-up menu.
Updated the Active ToolTip function. Enabling Active ToolTips means text that would normally but cut off due to lack of space will be shown as a ToolTip. The method for achieving this was improved and now applies to more display elements.
File lists will now show files with a standard capitalization method.
Added a file browse item to the main File menu.
When opening files, if you hold down the CONTROL key just before right clicking to bring up the menu, the file will be opened using a generic application. If you hold down the SHIFT key just before right clicking to bring up the menu, the file will be opened using the registered Windows application. And if you hold down both the CONTROL and SHIFT keys just before right clicking to bring up the menu, the file will be opened using the standard "Open With" dialog.
More status messages are provided overall.
ToolTip help has been expanded.
