Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator 2004
Revision History
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.6.5
Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator 2004 is a full-featured
addon manager for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.
Addon Wizard
 | A new window sizing
menu option allows you to synchronize the position and size of all Addon
Install Wizard windows in one action. For instance, say you size the
Configure Aircraft window perfectly and you want all other Addon Wizard
windows to use this size. In the Configure Aircraft window press F12 and pick “Synchronize
all Install Wizard window sizes”. All other Wizard windows will be
positioned and sized just like Configure Aircraft. |
Document File List Upgrade
You've used document file lists many times. They appear on many
windows including Select Addon Files and all Addon Installation Wizard steps,
the Addon Removal Wizard, and Work With Addons. The document file boxes list the
addon’s documentation in a convenient spot but now they can optionally show
image files or any file set of your choice. For example, screenshots can be
pooled into this list so you can quickly scan and preview them. Or, make your
own custom list!
To see this in action, right
click in a document file list and pick "View Images".
Screenshots, thumbnails, etc. are listed. Use "View
Documents" to return to showing text files, File_IDs, .doc files, etc. Or
pick "View Custom..." to define your own list.
 | You can view any image file directly by right-clicking
and selecting "View". Select "Open"
(or double click) to open a graphics file. Select "Properties"
to examine the file’s disk properties. |
 | A small preview of the
selected image file appears in the preview area near the bottom of the
window. Move to a different image file to change the preview.
|
 | Create custom lists of any file extension
(even several extensions). Right click select
"View
Custom..." and type in some file
extensions then press OK. |
General
 | All images are now shown in widescreen format (16:9)
where possible. Images are shown as close to the original aspect ratio as
possible. This improves image quality when pictures are not forcibly
stretched. |
 | Improved automatic naming of addons. |
 | When the option to limit thumbnail size is enabled,
thumbnails pasted from the clipboard are now impacted by this setting. |
Fixes
 | Fixed a bug in all Addon Installation Wizard steps where
using the Paste Folder function on an addon item would not properly update
the installation folder. |
 | Fixed a related bug in the Installation Summary window
where using Paste Folder there produced an error. |
 | Fixed an issue with Configure Aircraft, Configure Panel
and Configure Scenery where if the All tab was shown first, there might be a
crash when Next was pressed. |
 | Fixed a bug in title naming for aircraft repaints,
resolving a permanent “title name is already in use” problem. |
 | Fixed a bug in Edit Aircraft where the Work With command
might not see if a hidden aircraft was actually in the database. |
 | Explore Folder now works properly when the path to be
explored contains a comma (before it would complain the path did not exist). |
 | The Customization option “Limit thumbnails to no more
than” is no longer grayed out making it seem disabled. |
 |
Added a Help button to
several message box dialogs to make it quick and easy to get more help.
Pressing Help will open the help system and offer an additional discussion
or more detailed assistance on the topic. |
 |
Added Related Topics to
all registration topics to make it easier to learn more about other aspects
of registration. |

Work With Addons Window
 |
Sorting the addon list
by rating is now accurate. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.6.1
Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator 2004 is a full-featured
addon manager for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9).
Addon Installation
 | Improved
installation for a number of addons to make installation faster, cleaner and
easier so you can get up in the air faster with fewer “red dot” issues. |
 | Improved picture assignment for aircraft and panel addons. |
 | Addit! Pro now
automatically marks most duplicate files “do not install” for you, to save
time and disk space and to avoid file conflicts. |
 | RAR files are now
supported! See RAR Support below for details. |
Addon Installation Wizard
 | Added a new column
to all Addon File lists. Use the Archive File column to reveal which zip or rar file contains the addon file.
This makes working with nested zip files easier. From any Addon Installation Wizard
step, right click in the Addon File list, pick Customize Columns, then check
Archive File to show the column. |
 | The Problem Details
and Item Number columns in all Addon File lists are now shown only when
needed to explain an installation problem. |
 | A new checkbox in
the Select Installation Method box allows you to toggle installation of the
current group of files with one click. Uncheck the box to flag all files in
the tab group “Do Not Install”. This prevents them from being installed.
Leave the box checked to install all the files. |
Addon Installation Wizard – Configure Panels
 | Resolved an issue
where setting the panel destination folder manually might not always set the folder for associated panel files. |
 | Gauges are now shown
properly once again on the Gauge tab. |
Addon Management
 | Flash video (FLV and
SWF video formats) are now considered movies along with AVI and related
media files. |
 | Added RAR file
support to the Windows Explorer context menu (see RAR Support below). |
Addon Pictures
Assigning pictures during
installation has been much improved. A new picture list replaces the Set
Picture window. Simply select a picture from the picture list to assign it
to the addon. This gives you:
 | Faster
selection since you no longer need to open and use a Set Picture
screen. |
 | Easier
selection since there are fewer clicks and less guesswork. |
 | You can quickly and
easily see the images included with the addon (or tell if there are
none at all). |
 | Widescreen images
are now displayed at 16:9. |
These improvements apply
to aircraft, panel, scenery and texture group picture assignment.
Edit Aircraft
 | The
Status Filter Bar
setting is saved from session to session. |
Fixes
 | Fixed a problem that
could result in a type mismatch error on startup. |
 | Fixed a panel picture selection issue. |
 | Fixed a bug in
Configure Missions where destination folder validation was not being
triggered. |
 | Eliminated a bug
that allowed duplicate aircraft to appear if more than one .cfg file existed
in the aircraft's folder. |
 | Fixed a bug where
Addit! Pro was not processing files with long names passed to it from
Windows Explorer’s context menu handler. |
 | Fixed a bug with
automatic addon naming. |
 | Fixed a bug where if
a slash (/) was included in an addon’s title, the default destination folder
could include a subfolder by mistake. |
 | Fixed a display
issue where error reports would sometimes show a missing file more than
once. |
Help System
 |
Updated help to include discussion of new features. |
 |
Reorganized a couple sections for improved clarity. |
RAR Support
Addit! Pro now features support for WinRAR archives!
Sometimes addons are packaged in RAR files instead of ZIP files. With Addit!
Pro, you can install addons from RAR files just as you can with ZIP files. No
outside program is required, everything is built into Addit! Pro!
 | RAR support was
added to Windows Explorer’s content menu. Just right click on a RAR file and pick
“Install to FSX using Addit! Pro”. Note: you must have this
feature
enabled in Customize > General Options > “Add install option to Windows
Explorer context menu”. |
 | Supports nearly all
WinRAR formats (WinRAR is not required). |
 | Handles RAR files
inside ZIP files, ZIPs inside RARs and any combination. |
Select Addons Files Window Enhancements
All drive and folder navigation in both the Select Addon Files
Window and Browse Folders/Files Window has been updated and improved. This was
done to:
 |
increase performance |
 |
provide new features |
 |
address freeze issues under Windows
Vista |
 |
resolve incompatibilities with some
system security software |
Issues some were having in previous versions that prevented
selection of addons should be fixed along with related freezes and crashes.
Drive and folder changes are much faster and you can right click on any folder
and get the same context menu and functionality you enjoy in Windows Explorer!
Work With Addons
 |
Clicking on information
in the Details tab copies the text to the clipboard.
|
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.5.4
Fixes
 | Fixed an issue where
assigning pictures to scenery could cause an error. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.5.3
Fixes
 | Fixed an issue related
to the splitter functionality inside the Browse Folders window and Select
Addon Files window. This increases stability especially under Windows Vista,
solving crash issues. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.5.2
Addon Installation
 | When you install an
aircraft skin/repaint addon, Addit! Pro tries to give the new texture set a
variant name appropriate to that addon. |
 | If an aircraft
includes a thumbnail.jpg image in its texture folder, the image is used for
the aircraft picture if no other image is assigned to the aircraft.
Similarly, if a panel includes a thumbnail it will be assigned as the panel
picture. |
 | If a thumbnail.jpg file
already exists when a new one is installed for the first time, it is renamed
Thumbnail Backup.jpg so you won't lose it. |
 | Improved automatic selection of aircraft and panel pictures. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Set Installation Options Window
 | Added a
button to quickly clear all text in the
description field. |
Addon Wizard
 | Added options to
access Addon History and the new FS Configuration Manager from the wizard. |
Addon Management
 | Addit! Pro now fully
supports Microsoft DirectDraw Surface (DDS) graphics file and
Portable Network Graphics (PNG) graphics files. |
 | Windows Clipboard
pictures, when pasted for use as addon pictures, are now stored in JPG
format instead of as a Windows bitmap (BMP). |
 | Images may now be saved in Windows bitmap, JPEG or GIF
format within the View Image window. |
 | Improved handling of
relative paths (e.g. "=..\sound\ban1strt"). |
Customize Window
General Options
 | Added an option to add an Addit! Pro item to Windows Explorer's file context menu. This menu appears
when you right-click on a zip file. The menu item is called "Install to
FSX using Addit! Pro".
Pick it to send the zip file directly to Addit! Pro for speedy installation.
Uncheck this box to remove the menu option. |
 | Added an option to
launch and show the FS Configuration Manager window. |
 | Added the ability to
change the font used within Addit! Pro. |
Edit Aircraft Window
 | Aircraft pictures will dynamically resize to accommodate
different aspect ratios of the source image. This will reproduce them more
accurately resulting in better pictures. For example, a 400x300 thumbnail
image renders 4:3 and a 256x128 image in 2:1. |
 | Added the ability to
adjust the aircraft Flight Simulator highlights when it opens. Pick an
aircraft, right click and select Aircraft
Configuration then pick Make Default. |
 | Added a
Collapse All function to collapse all
branches in the Aircraft tree view. This hides all variants leaving only the
aircraft titles. Applies only to the Aircraft tree view. |
 | Pressing Insert after selecting an aircraft adds a new
variant (just as the Delete key triggers removal). |
Edit Panels Window
 | Pictures will dynamically resize to accommodate different
aspect ratios of the source image. This will reproduce them more accurately
resulting in better pictures. For example, a 400x300 thumbnail image renders
4:3 and a 256x128 image in 2:1. |
Edit Scenery Window
 | Pictures will dynamically resize to accommodate different
aspect ratios of the source image. This will reproduce them more accurately

Work With Addons where a change to "Authors" erroneously updated the wrong
column in the Addon list box. |
 | Fixed a bug where a
line might appear twice in the Aircraft Configuration Report. |
 | Fixed a quirk in the
Repair Addon window where an item offered for repair could be listed twice. |
 | Addit! Pro now remembers
your choice to always open windows in their maximized state. |
 | Fixed a potential issue in Edit Aircraft where "Fly Now!"
could produce an error box. |
 | Fixed a problem with the aliasing of a panel/sound for an
aircraft where the alias is already aliasing something. |
 | Fixed a problem with apostrophes in the alias entry. |
 | Fixed all known issues with Windows Vista. |
 | Improved visual appearance under Windows Vista. |
FS Configuration Manager Window (NEW!)
The FS Configuration Manager window is used to perform a variety of tasks
on Flight Simulator's main program configuration (.cfg) files. To access
this window, pull down the Tools
menu and pick FS Configuration Manager.
Flight Simulator makes use of a
central configuration file to store details about the sim such as your graphics,
sound and realism settings, among other things. The file
FSX.CFG holds this information.
You change the active configuration file and manage alternate configuration
files using Addit! Pro's FS Configuration Manager.
Use multiple
FSX.CFG
files to easily run the sim under various configurations. Why use multiple configuration files?
Some examples:
The FS Configuration Manager allows you to create and manage a
set of CFG files then run FS using any of them. You can name the
CFG files however you like and even include a description.
Press the Help button on
the FS Configuration Manager screen for complete details.
General Changes
Windows Explorer Context Menu

Improvements and Changes in Version 6.4.7
Addon Installation
Merge Addons Feature
Overview - Sometimes addon authors patch or update
their work. Addit! Pro makes installing update packages painless. Just install
them like any other addon, then use the new Merge Addons feature to combine the
update package with the original addon to form a single, unified package.
The Merge Addons window allows you to combine two
addons into one. To access this
window, open a Work With Addons window, select
two addons, right click then pick Merge.
Why merge addons?
 | To apply a fix, patch or update to an existing
addon. |
 | To merge a standalone panel addon with an aircraft to form
a complete package. |
 | To combine an aircraft skin/repaint addon
with its base aircraft. |
How to merge two addons
Inside the Work With Addons window, select two addons. Right
click then pick Merge. When the Merge Addons
window appears, select the merge direction. The addon you pick will represent
the final package. This package will house all of the files combined.
The base addon, the one you select in the Merge Addons window,
will take files from the merged addon. The merged addon will be lost. The base
addon's description will contain a note mentioning the merge.
Other
 | Scenery addons install with greater ease especially if
they include several groups of scenery that install to different folders.
|
Addon Installation Wizard
 | Just
type in a folder in any
folder box where you select an installation folder. Just enter a folder then
press Apply. If "automatically advance
Addon Installation Wizard steps" is enabled in the Customize window,
the wizard will shoot you forward to the next step.
|
 | If no pictures are
included with an addon, a message to that effect is shown in the Set
Picture sub-step. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Scenery Window
 | Added a new option
to quickly install a scenery group to Flight Simulator's
\Scenery\World\Scenery folder. This makes it very easy to install a group or
an entire scenery package into the World\Scenery folder without having to
manually select that folder. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Textures Window
 | Added a new option to quickly install a texture group to
Flight Simulator's \Scenery\World\Texture folder. |
Addon History

now sortable by author, zip filename, file size,
file total, origin and rating. To sort by any of these
fields, first make the column visible by right clicking in the Addon list
and selecting Customize Columns. Next,
click the column header to sort the display by that column. |
Addon Management
Movies
Overview - Movie files are now
supported and you can install, manage and remove all kinds of movies including
in-flight videos, training movies and more using Addit! Pro!

cabinet. |
 | Installation is easy: in the Addon Installation Wizard,
go into Configure Other then click on the Movies tab to tweak the
installation of your video files. |
 | Use the Work With Addons window to manage your movies.
Set the Filter to Show Only Movies to view your movie collection all in one
place, no matter where you installed them. Rate movies, perform searches and
otherwise manage them as you would any other flight sim addon. |
 | Double click on a movie file to watch it in your favorite
video player. |
Fixes
 | Removed Report tab
from Addon History window where it served no purpose. |
 | Fixed a bug where
airport and facilities addons were not appearing properly. |
 | Fixed a bug in Work
With Addons where renaming an addon would not immediately rebuild the addon
file list and that resulted in false missing file errors. |
Help System
 | Updated for all the new features and changes. |
 | Re-indexed help
system as some newer topics were broken or missing. |
Work With Addons Window
 | The Addon list is
now sortable by author, zip filename, file size,

and later apply them to other addon items. In any Wizard step window, pick
an addon file, right click then select Copy Folder.
If the file's Target Folder is, say, "C:\Games\Flight Simulator\Texture\"
that folder is copied to a special clipboard. Apply it to any other file
by selecting another item, right clicking then selecting

 | You can
optionally open the report file after it is created, or just have it
quietly saved for you. |
|
Edit Aircraft Window
 | You can now select
and fly an aircraft immediately, right from the Edit Aircraft window! Just
pick any aircraft, right click then choose Fly Me
Now!. Addit! Pro will update the default flight and launch Flight
Simulator. To simply update the default flight without
starting Flight Simulator, hold down the SHIFT key when selecting
Fly Me Now!. The selected aircraft is
readied for flight; start Flight Simulator later when desired. |

that displays the health of the selected addon. Missing and damaged files
are assessed and listed here. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.4.3
Addon Installation
 | Added a new right click menu option called "Install to
Folder Defined by Zip Folder Entry". Use it to install an addon file to the
folder specified by the item's zip folder entry. Sometimes a file stored inside a
zip archive includes a special zip folder designation. This piece of information
indicates the specific folder where the item is intended to be placed when
extracted. Use this installation option on an addon file to attempt to
change the Target Folder to the folder defined by the item's zip folder
entry. The Target Folder will change only if Addit! Pro can determine the
proper installation folder. To use this feature, right click on an addon
item then pick Install to Folder Defined by Zip
Folder Entry. |
 | During installation, an addon's description is filled-in
using text from any available readme.txt file, if no fileid.diz file exists. |
 | During installation of an aircraft, the aircraft's
description is used as the addon description if no text can be pulled from
the addon's documentation (i.e. file_id.diz type files). |
 | Improved pulling of text from documentation files (e.g.
lines and borders can now never become titles). |
 | Improved panel installation. |
Addon Installation Wizard
 | In the Select Addon Files Window, you can now navigate straightaway to a folder by entering
a folder name in the free-form folder input box. For example, enter "C:\My
Addons\Boeing 737-400\" to switch to that directory. |
 | Pressing DELETE on an item in the Addon File list now
flags it "Do Not Install". |
Customize Window
 | Changed "Describe addons using file_id.diz" to "Describe
addons using included documentation". |
 | Changed "Name addons using file_id.diz" to "Name addons
using included documentation". |
Edit Aircraft Window
 | A new tree view displays aircraft one at a time, in a
condensed tree format. Variant aircraft are hidden from view until you
reveal them. The previous flat view, which displays all aircraft and their
variants in one big list, remains available. Advantages of the tree view:
 | Presents a shorter overall list while still providing
access to all variant aircraft. |
 | Easier management of a large aircraft fleet. |
 | Functionality of the existing flat list
view is retained. |
 | Search and all filters work in tree view mode. |
 | Quickly expand all branches to reveal your entire
fleet. |
 | Aircraft without a manufacturer are listed
together as "No Manufacturer". |
|
 | Activate the new tree view by clicking
Tree View near the bottom of the window. Click
Flat View to return to the traditional
list view. |
Fixes
 | Fix tab order in Installation Summary window. |
 | Addressed an issue where an invalid registry Flight
Simulator path could cause grief. |
General Changes
 | You can extract files into subfolders now by checking the
box "Use folder names" during extraction. |
 | During the installation of a series flight plans, if
Traffic Tools is not located, the program will not prompt to search for it
again after you abort the first attempt to find the Traffic Tools
application. |
Help System
 | Updated for all the new features and changes. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.4.1
Addon History Window (NEW!)
 | The Addon History window shows a log of all addons you
have installed and imported over time. To access this window, pull down the
Addons
menu then select Addon History. |
 | When you import or install an addon, Addit! Pro records it in a
log archive called the addon history. This window lists everything in your
addon history archive. Every addon you import appears here as does every addon you
install, and the history even includes deleted addons.
Use the Addon History window to:
 | Check to see if you have previously installed an addon. |
 | Look for an addon removed on a specific date. |
 | Search for an old addon's zip filename. |
 | List all of the aircraft you have ever installed. |
|
 | Edit any log entry to change the rating,
author, and description. |
 | This window contains the Addon History list, Category Tabs (including
a Details and Description area), and a new Flip Bar (see Flips Bars below). |
 | You can also click History
on the Toolbar to open this window. Right click on the Toolbar and select
Choose Buttons to enable this feature. |
 | To learn more about this window, open it then press the
Help button located in the bottom left corner of the window. |
Addon Importing
 | The new Filter Bar on the Import Addons window allows you
to show addons in a certain category such as aircraft. This makes it much easier
to import specific types of addons. See General Changes for more information concerning Flip Bars
and the Filter Bar. |
 | Substantially improved addon search performance. |
 | Added a button to the Import Addons window that opens the
Import Options window. Click the Options
button to change the import
settings from within the Import Addons window. |
 | Pressing Import (in the lower right corner of this
window) now only imports the addons currently
shown in the Addon list. |
 | You can now cancel during the search for addons as well
as cancel the import process itself. Click on the progress bar at the
bottom of the window to abort the operation. |

safekeeping, instead of marking them "Do Not Install". |
 | A new option automatically advances the Wizard to the
next step after you make a choice. For example, in the Configure Scenery
window, immediately after selecting a scenery installation folder, the
Wizard moves forward as if you had pressed the Next button. After making
your final choice, the window will close automatically as if you had clicked
the OK button. This option is disabled by default. Advanced users
may
enable it to work through the Wizard more rapidly. See Customize below
for more details. |

Appearance Options section. This feature allows you to customize Addit!
Pro's main toolbar. |
 | Added a new option "Addon History" to "Open With", under
the Startup Options section. Select it to show the Addon History window
immediately after Addit! Pro loads. |
 | A new section called Addon Import Options offers choices
to customize what addons are imported and how to name them, whether or not
to show a report, and if Addit! Pro should search for new addons during
startup:
 | Show Import
Options window before showing Import Addons window:
Check this box if you wish to see the Import Options window before the
Import Addons window appears. |
 | Show a report
after importing addons: Check this box to view a report
detailing what happened during the import process. |

Readme.txt files)?" is now Yes. |
 | Added confirmation for group removal. |
 | Pressing the DELETE key on addon import screen now
activates the "Remove from group" action. |
Addon Installation
 | Improved the installation of aircraft skin/repaint
addons. New repaints will automatically default to the next available
texture "slot" (i.e. if Texture.2 is the last slot, a new repaint will be
slotted for Texture.3). |
 | Scenery pictures can be automatically assigned when an
addon includes them. |
 | Improved the automatic selection of pictures to represent
aircraft, panels and scenery addons. |
 | Improved automatic pulling of text from file_id.diz files

you can with aircraft and panels. Scenery pictures appear in the Work With
Addons window as well as the new Edit Scenery window described in detail
below. |
 | The new Set Picture step appears after the Scenery
Library step. During installation of a scenery addon, press Next until the
Set Picture step appears then press Help for further instructions. |
 | Updated the online walkthrough guide "How to Install a
Scenery Addon" to include instructions for assigning scenery pictures. |
Addon Installation Wizard–Select Picture Window
 | A few right-click functions related to installing addons
were incorrectly being offered on this screen. These were removed. |
 | Double clicking on a picture now selects it. |
Customize Window
 | Added an option to automatically assign pictures to
scenery addons when installed to custom folders (See Addon Installation
Automation Options 2). |

Edit Scenery Window
Overview
 | The new Edit Scenery window allows complete management of
Flight Simulator's scenery library! Essentially, anything you can do through
Flight Simulator's in-game scenery library editor can be done using Edit
Scenery plus much more. |
 | To access this new window, click the Scenery button on
the toolbar or pull down the Addons menu, click Scenery then pick Edit
Scenery. Press the Help button for assistance. |

date. |
 | Scenery can be imported and you can Work with any scenery
area, just press CONTROL-W, a new shortcut key or use the right click menu. |
Scenery Area Editing
 | Any scenery area can be fully edited. Change the title,
location, locate/remote setting, activate/deactivate setting, required flag
and specify parameters. You can even edit the world title and description.
Areas can be moved up or down, added and deleted. |
 | You can see and edit full scenery paths instead of
relative path naming used in the native configuration file. |
 | Assign pictures to scenery areas. |
 | Activating (or deactivating) an area is as simple as
checking a box. |
 | Move and rename scenery folders. |
 | Quickly open scenery configuration files, make backups
and
restore from existing backup files. |
Validation and Error Reporting
 | Addit! Pro informs you if you enter a title used by
another scenery area and highlights configuration problems. |
 | The program checks the integrity of path specifications
and looks for missing scenery files. |
 | Select an area and click the Report tab or select several
areas, right click and pick Validate. |
Fixes
 | Fixed a rare "Overflow" error that could occur in the
Select Addon Files window (or Browse Files window) when extremely large zip
files were selected. |
 | Fixed a bug in Edit Aircraft, Edit Panels and Edit Sounds
where renaming a folder could result cause a permanent cursor switch into an
hourglass. |
 | Fixed a bug in Import Addons where two messages were not
being show properly. |
 | Fixed a bug that would cause panel gauge CAB files to be
incorrectly installed to the wrong folder during an aircraft install, when
you modified the aircraft installation folder. |
 | Fixed a bug in the Select Folder window where sometimes
nothing would happen after making a selection and pressing the Select
button. |
General Changes
 | Pressing the Delete key when an item in a ListView is
selected now deletes or removes that item, if possible. |
 | The Tools menu option "Clear Default Aircraft and Panel
Pictures" is now "Clear Default Addon Pictures" and now includes default
scenery pictures. You can also use the Clear Picture action on the Edit
Aircraft, Edit Panels and Edit Scenery windows to clear addon pictures. The
option "Reload Default Aircraft and Panel Pictures" is now "Reload Default
Addon Pictures" and now includes default scenery pictures. You may also use
the Change Picture action on the Edit Aircraft, Edit Panels and Edit Scenery
windows to assign addon pictures to the default addons. |
 | Added "Get Ready to Edit Scenery" to startup options and
to the main Wizard. |
 | The Addons menu on the main menu bar now includes two
scenery items, "Work With Scenery Addons..." and "Edit Scenery…". |
 | The Scenery button on the toolbar now opens an Edit
Scenery window. |
 | Added a shortcut key (CONTROL-W) that allows you to
quickly open a Work With Addons window for the selected items. This feature
was added to Edit Aircraft, Edit Panels, Edit Scenery, and Edit Sounds. |
 | The Rename Folder window can now be resized and the
program will remember your preference next time. |
Help System
 | Many new help topics: Designating Target Folders, How to
Change Scenery Pictures, How to Change Scenery Priorities, How to
Enable/Disable a Scenery Area, and various topics covering the new Edit
Scenery Window. |
 | Updated help topics covering all changes made in this
release. Updated Keyboard Shortcuts. |
 | Several new walkthrough guides take you
step-by-step through addon installation. These walkthroughs include: How to
Install an Aircraft Addon (basic), How to Install an Aircraft Addon
(complete), How to Install an Aircraft Texture Skin/Repaint Addon, How to
Install a Panel Addon (basic), How to Install a Panel Addon (complete), How
to Install a Scenery Addon. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.2.1
Addon Installation
 | Cascading style sheet definitions are no longer treated
as texture files. |
 | Added code enhancements to improve the installation of
some addons and file types. |
 | During installation of an addon having both an original
panel.cfg and an alias panel.cfg, where the alias points to the original,
Addit! Pro will automatically update the alias during installation to ensure
it always points to the original, no matter where you install the original
panel. |
Addon Management
 | Addit! Pro can now hide and show aircraft. Flight
Simulator can take a considerable amount of time to build its aircraft list
if you have many flyable aircraft installed. Hiding an aircraft removes it
from view and speeds up creation of the aircraft list, streamlining aircraft
selection. Hidden aircraft may be restored at any time by using the Show
feature. See Edit Aircraft Window below for more information.
 | Hide aircraft to speed up Flight Simulator's aircraft list
and make selections go faster. |
 | Work with hidden aircraft just like regular aircraft:
you can import them, move them to the file cabinet, copy them to zip
files and folders, reinstall them, etc. |
 | In the Edit Aircraft window, the aircraft filter bar has a
new option to conceal hidden aircraft from view so you can see exactly
what you will get inside Flight Simulator. |
 | Restore a hidden aircraft just as easily using the
Show feature. |
|
 | Effects texture bitmap files located in Flight
Simulator's global texture folder were being incorrectly reported as
missing. |
Edit Aircraft Window
Edit Panels Window
 | Added an Import Addon feature to the panel list's
right-click context menu. This feature allows you to import the selected
panels into Addit! Pro's database. |
 | If you try to work with a panel that is not in Addit!
Pro's database, the program will now offer to import it for you. |
 | Changing or Clearing the panel picture when the
underlying panel is simply a reference to a real panel will now process the
real panel directly, instead of issuing a "move to the real panel then try
again" message |
 | The program now remembers the last folder accessed when
you browsed for a new panel picture. |
 | Added the ability to operate on more than one panel
simultaneously. For instance, select several panels then right click and
choose Suppress Panel Configuration Errors. Configuration errors for all of
the panels will be hidden. |
Edit Sounds Window
 | Added an Import Addon feature to the sound list's
right-click context menu. This feature allows you to import the selected
sound packages into Addit! Pro's database. |
 | If you try to work with a sound that is not in Addit!
Pro's database, the program will now offer to import it for you. |
 | Added the ability to operate on more than one sound
simultaneously. For instance, select several sounds then right click and
choose Suppress Sound Configuration Errors. Configuration errors for all of
the sound packages will be hidden. |
Fixes
 | Fixed a potential cause of an "Out of stack space" error
in the Select Folder window. |
 | Fixed a bug that could create a zero-length aircraft.cfg
under certain circumstances. This might occur when reinstalling an aircraft
skin/texture set from the File Cabinet. |
 | Fixed an issue that could cause some XML gauges to be
installed to the global gauges folder instead of a panel folder. |
 | Fixed a problem that could, in rare cases, cause a
"subscript out of range" error. |
 | Addressed a few other minor issues. |
General Changes
 | The Optimize Database window now features a "Thorough
repair" option. Use this option if Addit! Pro's database becomes damaged and
the self-repair mechanism is unable to resolve the problems. |
 | Addit! Pro now checks the integrity of its database on
startup and offers to fix any problems it finds. |
 | When pasting a picture from the Windows Clipboard into an
image control, you will no longer be prompted for confirmation if the
current image is empty. |
 | The right-click context menu option called "Set Aircraft
Picture from Clipboard" has been renamed "Paste from Clipboard" to be more
conventional. This change was made to "Set Panel Picture from Clipboard",
too. |
 | Made a few more general performance improvements. |
 | Zip error reporting has been enhanced to provide more
detail in error messages. |
Help System
 | Reworked the sections covering how to select addon files
and added a Getting Started area. |
 | Added new Tutorial guides: How to Install an Addon (a
basic overview of the installation process), How to Hide and Show Aircraft and Getting Started with Hiding
and Showing Aircraft. |
Work With Addons Window
 | If there are no addons in Addit! Pro's database when you
open the Work With Addons window, a button appears allowing you to import
some. |
 | Performing a task on several addons in the Work With
Addons window resulted in annoying mouse cursor flutter so that has been
fixed. |
 | Some addon-level tasks (e.g. Copy to Folder) were
generating a number of annoying pop-up dialog boxes when files were missing,
sometimes with no option to cancel or respond "OK to all". These dialogs
have been removed altogether (missing files are listed on the Reporting
Results window shown after a task completes). |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.1.7
Addon Installation
 | Improved Addit! Pro's ability to automatically determine an addon name and fill
in a description. |
Fixes
 | Fixed an issue in the panel configuration report where a texture erroneously
displayed with a double extension (e.g. "texture.BMP.bmp") was incorrectly
reported as missing. |
 | Fixed a bug that was causing some status bar messages to briefly appear then
vanish. |
General Changes
 | Adjusted the method to determine how columns automatically resize to show their
entire contents. Before this change, a column might sometimes be a bit too narrow but now
all columns are wide enough to show their longest value. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.1.5
Addon Import Process
 | Bitmap textures are now imported along with the effects files that use them (an
effects file is a ".fx" file that specifies one or more bitmap textures needed
to create the effect). |
 | Made two changes to boost addon loading performance. |
Addon Installation
Scenery Installation
 | Scenery files, such as custom A.I. traffic, that have zip entries pointing to
Flight Simulator's Scenery\World\Scenery folder will now install to that location by
default. |
 | Some scenery exclusion files (.xcl) were improperly defaulting to the scenery
texture folder instead of the scenery folder. This has been fixed. |
 | Static aircraft textures are now installed to the addon's scenery folder if
specified that way by the addon (before they were installed to Flight Simulator's global
scenery folder by default). |
 | Scenery files are now organized by group. For instance, if a scenery addon
includes several sets of BGL files where each set is designed to go its own scenery
folder, you can easily accomplish that by specifying a unique scenery folder for each
group (see Addon Installation Wizard-Configure Scenery Window below). |
Other
 | Improved the installation of addons that include multiple, similar aircraft.cfg
files. |
 | Improved the installation of MP3 audio files. |
 | Enhanced the way some gauges and textures are installed. |
 | Addit! Pro can automatically name and describe addons based on an included
"file_id.diz" file. However, because not everyone names this file exactly the
same way, some forms were not processed. Now all forms of "file_id.diz" files
are now considered where before only a file strictly named "file_id.diz" was
read. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Aircraft Window
 | Miscellaneous aircraft textures are now shown here instead of on the Configure
Scenery/Misc. Textures window. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Scenery Window
 | Added a new option to install scenery to "the folders determined by Addit!
Pro". This is the new default option. |
 | The Quick Picks button in the Set Installation Folder step now lists items based
on your choice of default scenery installation folder (See Customize below). |
 | Tabs are now used to present scenery groups (see Addon Installation above). Click
on a tab to work with scenery files in a particular group. |
 | When you select a custom installation folder for a scenery group, your choice of
folder is now used to name the scenery library title so you don't have to waste time
resetting the title. |
Addon Management
 | Improved the automatic selection of pictures to represent addons. |
 | MP3 audio files are now treated like WAV sound files and handled accordingly. |
 | Improved handling of effects (.fx) files and their underlying bitmap textures. |
Addon Removal
 | Addit! Pro now analyzes and cross-checks all effects file (.fx) dependencies as
well as underlying bitmap textures during the removal of these files. |
Customize Window
 | Moved the option called "In tabbed displays show the 'All' tab first"
from Addon Installation to Appearance, under the Tabs category. This option now applies to
the new Reporting (Results) window since it has been upgraded to a tabbed display (see
General, below). |
 | Split the category "Addon Installation Automation Options" into
"Addon Installation Automation Options 1" and "Addon Installation
Automation Options 2" to accommodate new options. |
 | You can now specify a default installation folder for scenery addon files. For
instance, if you usually install your scenery under "Flight Simulator\Addon
Scenery\", you can specify that as the default folder. So if you installed a scenery
addon called Denver International Airport Enhancements, Addit! Pro would default the
custom installation folder to "Addon Scenery\Denver International Airport
Enhancements\". The default installation folder is also used in for scenery Quick
Picks. |
Edit Aircraft Window
 | The aircraft configuration report now lists missing effects (.fx files), missing
effects bitmap textures (.bmp files) and missing MPEG-3 sounds (.mp3 audio files). |
 | When viewing an aircraft's configuration report, modeling aliasing (where an
aircraft's model.cfg file just points to another aircraft's model configuration) no longer
produces the message, "The aircraft's model configuration file does not specify a
normal model file". |
Fixes
 | Improved the truncation/abbreviation of long text contained within certain
display controls. This was not working perfectly for controls inside frames and often
resulted in cutting off really long text. Now, really long text that is too long to fully
display is abbreviated properly. |
 | In the Configure Panel window the Quick Picks button, when the Customization
option "Place panels in a subfolder named" was unchecked, was displaying
inappropriate items. Same story with the Configure Sound window. Both of these issues have
been fixed. |
 | Fixed an "Overflow" bug that could happen when Addit! Pro read a very
long text file located inside an addon. |
 | Fixed a bug in the Edit Sounds window where some sound events where not being
shown in the sound event list. |
 | Fixed an assortment of other minor issues. |
General Changes
Results (Reporting) Window
 | Enhanced the Reporting (Results) window to display results based on categories
represented by tabs. For instance, the Addon Installation Wizard report is now organized
by these categories: files Installed, Not Installed, Special Actions and Failed Special
Actions. An All tab includes messages from all categories. Organizing this screen using
categories makes it easy to identify files that were not installed, scenery library areas
that were not removed, etc. |
 | More detail is provided in many reports. For instance, when a file is not
installed you will know why. |
 | A Save Report button has been added to save the report to a file along with a
Copy to Clipboard button to save it to the Windows Clipboard. |
Other
 | Browser thumbnail files are now treated as "other" files instead of
general textures so they will appear in the Configure Other window instead of the
Configure Scenery/Misc. textures window. Log (.log) files are now treated as document
files. |
 | Improved handling of images in PNG format.
|
 | After the Optimize Database operation completes a final status message now
appears in the status bar. |
 | Optimized aircraft loading for a small performance boost when loading lots of
aircraft. |
 | Improved zip file display performance in the zip file item lists and addressed a
performance issue with all ListView display controls where using Shift-PgDn or Shift-End
to select large numbers of files resulted in slow selection. |
 | Improved performance when moving from item to item in the zip file item list when
the source zip file contains a large number of files including imbedded zip files.
|
 | Added a Report a Bug option under the Help menu. Use this option to submit a bug
report via a web page or by email. |
 | Improved the unexpected error handler's reporting. |
Help System
 | Added a new topic: Submit a Bug Report. |
 | Updated several other topics and added new links. |
Work With Addons Window
 | Reduced the amount of mouse cursor "fluttering"
when moving from addon to addon. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.1.3
Addon Installation
 | Enhanced addon installation for several types of addons. |
 | Added an option to prevent installation of scenery.dat files. These files often
cause duplicate file conflict issues and Flight Simulator rebuilds them dynamically as
needed. This option is enabled by default. |
 | Gauges with incorrect/badly designed zip folder entries that map to a panel now
install to the proper locations. |
 | Increased addon installation performance. |
Addon Installation Wizard
 | All addon file lists now show the Zip Folder Entry column by default. |
 | The Installation Wizard now guides you better with more helpful messages. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Select Addon Files Window
 | The current addon folder is now used as the default folder when you press the Add
New Favorite folder button in the Favorites tab. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Scenery/Misc. Textures Window
 | Tabs are now used to represent various groups of texture files that are not shown
in any other step. |
 | Added a new Quick Picks button next to the installation folder field. For
skin/repaint textures, pressing the Quick Picks will produce a list of compatible aircraft
that could receive the new skin/paint scheme. |
Addon Import Process
 | Improved the process of excluding previously imported addons, especially in the
area of standalone panels and sounds. |
 | You can now add a file to an import addon group even if it is outside of the
\Aircraft folder structure. |
Addon Management
Texture Skin/repaints
 | Added the ability to easily install texture skins/repaints and apply them to
existing aircraft. Texture skin addons (also called "repaints" and sometimes
just "textures") are texture file sets that provide a different external paint
scheme for an aircraft. Some popular online addon sites offer dedicated sections for
skin/repaint addons. For example, AVSIM.com has a category called "Aircraft Repaints,
Textures & Modifications". Other sites like FlightSim.com offer repaints among
their standard categories. |
 | Addit! Pro fully automates the process of installing a texture skin/repaint addon:
 | Addit! Pro scans your aircraft to see which are compatible with the skin/repaint
addon and designates a new aircraft variant accordingly. |
 | An aircraft picture is automatically selected for you if one is included with the
addon. |
 | The aircraft exclusion list ensures Addit! Pro will not waste time scanning
undesirable aircraft. |
 | Several skin/repaint sets stored inside a single zip file can be easily installed
and applied to the same aircraft or to several planes, all in one step. |
|
 | Use the Configure Scenery/Misc. Textures window to customize the skin/repaint
installation:
 | For your installation method choose "an existing or new texture
folder". |
 | Check the box labeled "Create aircraft variant for use with these
textures". |
 | Press Next and select the aircraft to receive the new textures. Tip: Use the new
Quick Picks button next to the installation folder field to select compatible aircraft
that might receive the new skin/paint scheme. |
 | Press Next and specify aircraft variant details (title, variation name, panel and
sound). |
 | Press Next a final time to designate a picture to represent the aircraft variant. |
|
 | Addit! Pro leaves existing aircraft intact and creates a new aircraft variant
automatically. |
 | The new variant will use the new textures and the panel and sound package of the
base aircraft in the aircraft set by default. You can select a different panel and sound
package if you wish. |
 | For more information open the Help system and read the topic, "Getting
Started with Skin/repaint Addons". |
Gauge Processing
 | Flight Simulator 2004 introduced gauge files that may optionally be located in an
aircraft's panel folder instead of Flight Simulator's global gauges folder. Addit! Pro
now:
 | Validates all types of gauges located in the aircraft's folder tree, not just
gauge collections housed in CAB archives. |
 | Installs gauges to the panel folder if the addon package specifies gauges are to
be installed there. |
 | Picks up all types of gauges located in an aircraft's panel folder during the
addon import process. |
|
 | Other miscellaneous improvements to gauge installation also appear in this
release including improved installation and removal performance. |
AFCAD2
 | Unlike its predecessors, AFCAD2 compiles airport and facilities data into scenery
BGL files. Thus, AFCAD addons no longer include separate data files that Addit! Pro must
compile to install the addon. Instead, AFCAD addons now contain simple, pre-compiled BGL
scenery files. |
 | Accordingly, Addit! Pro installs AFCAD addons just like standard scenery. You may
install them to Flight Simulator's Addon Scenery\Scenery folder or wherever the addon's
documentation specifies. |
 | The AFCAD setup and quick program launch feature were retained for convenience. |
Other
 | Improved automatic selection of aircraft and panel pictures. |
 | Updated the addon import process to pickup gauge files in an aircraft panel
folder. |
Customize Window
 | Added an option to prevent installation of scenery.dat files. These files often
cause duplicate file conflict issues and Flight Simulator rebuilds them dynamically as
needed. This option is enabled by default. |
Edit Aircraft Window
 | Addit! Pro now detects out-of-continuous order aircraft section problems and
presents the error in the aircraft's configuration report. An aircraft defined by a
section that is out-of-continuous order will not appear in Flight Simulator. E.g. if an
aircraft.cfg file specifies [fltsim.0] then [fltsim.2], the second aircraft will not
appear in Flight Simulator. In some cases Addit! Pro will automatically repair this
problem. |
Aircraft Variants
 | Quickly add a new variant to any existing aircraft. To do so, select an aircraft,
right click, pick Aircraft Variant followed by Add. |
 | New variants are based on the selected aircraft but a pop-up appears allowing you
to customize the details. |
 | Adding a new variant does not change the original aircraft in any way and you can
remove a variant quite easily. |
 | To remove an existing variant select an aircraft, right click, pick Aircraft
Variant followed by Remove. |
 | Open the Help system and refer to the topic "How to Add a New Aircraft
Variant" for more information. |

 | Fixed a problem in Edit Aircraft where using the Rename Folder function on an
aircraft containing several panel folders might cause a harmless but annoying database
error dialog. |
 | Some sub folders underneath Flight Simulator's \Gauges folder were not being
deleted properly during addon removal. |
 | Fixed a problem with gauge handling where some gauges were not being processed
properly. |
 | Fixed a problem in the A.I. Traffic Manager where a large flight plan text file
could generate a runtime error. |
 | Addit! Pro prevents the removal of the aircraft used by default flight. This
process kicked in even when simply copying or removing addon records, preventing those
actions from happening. This has been corrected. |
 | Fixed a display problem in the Configure A.I. Traffic window where, if the All
tab was shown first, the A.I. Traffic controls mistakenly appeared. |
 | Fixed a problem in the Configure A.I. Traffic window where, if a flight plan
already exists, it was not properly flagged "Do Not Install". |
 | Fixed a potential problem in Select Addon Files that in rare cases could cause an
'ActiveX component can't create object' or ' Class does not support Automation or does not
support expected interface' error. |
 | Fixed a quirk in Select Addon Files where if an image file was selected in the
zip file list, the image preview was not always shown. |
 | Fixed a bug in Quick Picks where if a choice like "Addon Installed 03/1/2004
4:50:39 PM" was selected, no folder could be made because of the invalid characters
contained in the name (/ and :). |
 | Fixed a setup/distribution problem where in certain situations when you tried to
launch Addit! Pro, the Windows Installer would appear asking for the program's MSI file. |
 | Fixed several other minor issues. |
General Changes
 | Improved zip file error handling. |
 | Added a new menu option in Addit! Pro's Addons menu called "Work With
Aircraft Skins and Repaints" that allows you to do just that. |
 | Added a right-click "Copy to Clipboard" option to all picture controls.
Use it to copy any displayed image to the Windows clipboard. |
 | When working with aircraft, panels and sounds Addit! Pro may create backups of
configuration files. If an addon having such a backup configuration file was moved to the
File Cabinet, the backup configuration file was ignored and left installed. It is now
integrated into the addon. |
 | All versions of Addit! Pro can now make full use of all scenery installation
options. |
 | Improved addon installation and addon removal performance and sped up a few other
functions as well. |
Help System
 | Added several new topics: Getting Started with Skin/repaint Addons, How to
Install an Aircraft Texture Skin/repaint Addon, How to Add a New Aircraft Variant, and Add
Variant Window. |
 | Updated several other topics and added new links and glossary terms. |
 | Made a distinction between original definitions and original configurations and
renamed a few functions accordingly and updated the help system. |
Work With Addons Window
 | Added a new category called Aircraft Skins and Repaints to the category Filter
box. This box is located at the bottom of the window. Use this category to show only your
aircraft skin texture sets and repaint packages. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 6.0.5
Addon Import Process
 | Improved aircraft loading performance. |
 | Added an option to avoid importing addons that were previously imported. Check
the box called "Do not include previously imported addons" in the Import Options
window. |
 | Rather than showing all addon files bunched together in a single list (which
quickly became overwhelming), the Import Addons window is now divided into two parts, an
Addon list and an Addon file list much like the Work With Addons window. It's now much
easier to locate and modify individual addons. |
 | Effects (.fx) files are now included in the import process. |
 | The addon group description is now filled in automatically for aircraft. |
Addon Installation Wizard
 | Added "Quick Picks" buttons to all Addon Installation Wizard windows
that feature a Change Folder button. Pressing Quick Picks allows access to a list of
choices for selecting a folder or name. The items presented are based on the addon's
configuration, text files as well as the folder from which you install the addon. For
example, if you install a custom sound addon and in the Configure Sound window you select
"install to a custom sound folder", then press Quick Picks you will see several
possible installation folders. |
Set Installation Options Window
 | Two new fields are available to record the names of the addon's authors and pick
a default addon rating. Use the Work With Addons window to access or change these fields
after installation. |
 | The addon source folder name will now appear in the list of pre-determined names.
Press the button to the right of the Addon Name field to access this list. So if you
install an aircraft from, say, a folder called "Focke-Wulf Ta283", this term
appears in the name list and you can opt to name your addon based on that term. |
Addon Management
 | More information is stored for your addons.
 | The Authors field can be used to record the names of the folks responsible for
creating the addon. |
 | The Rating field can be used to rate the addon on a scale from 1-10. |
 | The Date Installed and Location fields report the date and time the addon was
installed and whether it exists in Flight Simulator or in Addit! Pro's File Cabinet. |
 | Also stored is the addon's source origin (the name of the original zip file or
folder), the size of the source origin in bytes, the number of files it contained and the
source type (installed or imported). |
|
 | Addons are now saved in Addit! Pro's \Addon and \Cabinet folders using their real
names combined with a number to make them unique. Renaming an addon updates the folder
names accordingly. |
 | Added support for weather themes. |
 | Added support for gauge CAB files present within panel folders. |
 | Addit! Pro now remembers every addon you install. Access to this addon history
will be made available in a future release. |
 | Effects (.fx) files are now considered in several processes. |
 | Improved installation of effects texture bitmaps. |
 | Created a means to exclude aircraft from the Edit Aircraft and Import Addons
windows. Use "AExclude.txt", located in Addit! Pro's \Settings folder, to
specify aircraft to exclude. Aircraft can be excluded by exact folder name or by a prefix
or suffix. Access this filter in the Customize window, under Aircraft Options. |
 | Improved handling of DLL files installed to \Modules. |
 | Added new items for Quick Picks including the name of the folder used to install
the addon and the name of the source zip file. |
 | Addit! Pro now prevents removal of the aircraft used by the default flight. |
Customize Window
 | Added a new section under Aircraft Options called Aircraft Picture Presentation.
You can opt to display aircraft and panel pictures:
 | Side by side - the panel picture is always shown to the right of the aircraft
picture. Use if you prefer larger images. |
 | One above the other - the panel picture is always shown beneath the aircraft
picture. Use if you prefer a wider Aircraft List. |
 | Automatic - a combination of the above based on the window size. "Side by
side" is used until the window is large enough to switch to "One above the
other". |
|
 | Added the option to exclude MyTraffic aircraft. Visit the Aircraft category and
check "Exclude MyTraffic aircraft". |
 | Added a Customize button to exclude aircraft from the Edit Aircraft and Import
Addons windows. Aircraft can be excluded by exact folder name or by a prefix or suffix.
Press Customize to open the filter for complete instructions. |
Edit Aircraft, Edit Panels, Edit Sounds Windows
 | Redesigned these windows to show more detail, eliminate dead space and to be more
functional at higher screen resolutions. |
 | Aspect ratios on all images are now correct regardless of window size. |
 | Configuration file validation reporting is now integrated into the window itself,
accessible by visiting the Report tab. If you prefer the old pop-up style (or if you want
to view only a specific type of report) just click on one of the View Configuration Report
buttons. |
 | Added a Validate option to specifically check the integrity
of the selected addon. |
Edit Aircraft Window
 | Introduced an aircraft filter bar to the Edit Aircraft window. Use the filter bar
to display aircraft by manufacturer, model (type) and variation similar to how Flight
Simulator presents aircraft in its Select Aircraft window. |
 | New options exist to control aircraft and panel pictures positioning. See
Customize for details. |
 | Added validation of aircraft effects (.fx) files. |
 | Improved aircraft loading performance. |
 | The right click context menu structure is now better organized. |
 | You can now always right click on an aircraft or panel image to modify it (before
this could only be done if something was shown, preventing you from using it to set an
image for the first time). |
 | Added several shortcut keys:
 | F6 - Change aircraft picture. |
 | F7 - Change panel picture. |
 | F9 - Assign new panel. |
 | F10 - Assign new sound. |
|
Edit Panels Window
 | Added a button in the Edit Panels window to open the selected panel configuration
file. |
 | New options exist to control panel picture positioning. See Customize for
details. |
 | You can now always right click on a panel image to modify it (before this could
only be done if something was shown, preventing you from using it to set an image for the
first time). |
 | Added a shortcut key for setting pictures, F7. |
Edit Sounds Window
 | Added a button in the Edit Sounds window to open the selected sound configuration
file. |
Fixes
 | Fixed a problem installing aircraft model files and model configuration files
where the aircraft.cfg file specified they be installed to some subfolder beneath the
"Model\" folder. Applied the fix to other scenarios involving panels, sounds and
textures. |
 | Sometimes during removal of an addon, some folders were not being deleted
properly. This happened only when the folders to be deleted were named a certain way. They
are now fully removed regardless of naming. |
 | Fixed a display problem in Configure A.I. Traffic that reared its head when the
option to display the All tab first was enabled. |
General
 | Program Information now displays your
\Documents and Settings path and your
\Application Data path. |
 | Added a means to work with multiple installations of Flight Simulator using
multiple installations of Addit! Pro. Normally, Addit! Pro searches the Windows Registry
to discover Flight Simulator's installation folder. Addit! Pro is then tied to that
installation. You can override this behavior to force a copy of Addit! Pro to work with a
second installation of Flight Simulator. See the new help topic "Using Addit! Pro
with Multiple Installations" for details. |
 | The startup sound event works fine now under Windows XP and is enabled by
default. |
 | Traffic Tools V2.02+ is now supported. |
 | AFCAD support is forthcoming and will coincide with Lee Swordy's release for
Flight Simulator 2004 later this year. |
 | Under some Windows XP themes the buttons on the bottoms of many forms were too
close to the edge of the window. This has been fixed. |
 | Added an option to the Tools menu called "Clear Default Aircraft and Panel
Pictures" to delete all stock aircraft and panel pictures. The previous, seldom used
option to clear all pictures was removed. |
 | Increased the tolerance to zip files that generate recoverable warnings. |
 | Improved gauge and texture installation. |
Work With Addons Window
 | Added a tabbed area displaying the addon files, description and details each on a
separate tab. |
 | The Details tab allows access to several new fields:
 | The Authors field, used to record the people responsible for creating the addon. |
 | The Rating field, used to rate the addon on a scale from 1-10. |
 | The Date Installed and Location fields report the date and time the addon was
installed and whether it exists in Flight Simulator or in Addit! Pro's File Cabinet. |
 | Also shown is the addon's source origin (the name of the original zip file or
folder), the size of the source origin in bytes, the number of files it contained and the
source type (installed or imported). |
