SimHQ.com has an article
reviewing Intel's latest Core i7 CPUs and their performance in
simulations including Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Flight Simulator X still has yet to overtake
Flight Simulator 2004, at least according to a casual poll over at
SimFlight. With over 2,400 votes, 47% chose FS2004 but only 39%
picked FSX. It is a good thing a new version of Addit! Pro For FS
2004 is in-the-works!
Our featured addon for the first month of the new
year is F3D
Skyknight.

certainly innovative.

Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator
X
Version 7.2.5* is ready. This release adds new
capabilities while enhancing existing features to bring you
the best companion program for FSX!
What is Addit! Pro? It's is a comprehensive addon
manager for Flight Simulator X. Easily install, manage and remove
aircraft, adventures, flights, flight plans, gauges,
missions, panels, A.I. airport and facilities data, scenery,
sounds, textures, videos, weather and more! Archive add-ons
to Addit! Pro's File Cabinet or recreate them in zip files.
Modify your aircraft, panels and sounds. Automatically
update Flight Simulator's Scenery Library.
You can now import missions along with
aircraft, panels, sounds and scenery. Just check
the
Missions box in the Import Options window. Stock Flight
Simulator missions are tagged accordingly and mission
descriptions are included automatically.
Addit!
Pro now checks for and fixes duplicate aircraft title
problems! When there is a duplicate title,
Flight
Simulator displays an annoying pop-up whenever you access
the aircraft list. Addit! Pro not only looks for this
conflict but offers several choices to resolve it for you.
The Edit
Aircraft, Edit Panels, Edit Sounds and Edit Scenery windows
are enhanced. You can view an addon's files by right
clicking and selecting the Configuration menu then picking
View Files. For example, you can view an aircraft's effects and effect
bitmap files. For panels, view a gauge and panel
bitmap list. For sounds, view an audio effects files list and
for scenery, view a scenery and texture file list. New
progress bars appear when loading long lists and a repair
button appears in the configuration file report area if
the addon has issues that may be fixed by Addit! Pro.
This release includes
a few other changes and additions along with updates to the Help system and bug fixes. Please see
the Revision History for complete
details.
Below are some screenshots. From left to
right: import missions, Edit Scenery view scenery/texture
files and Edit Aircraft duplicate aircraft title
identification:
