This month we feature Boeing/BAE T-45C Goshawk by
Dino Cattaneo.
This excellent package includes 7 paint schemes of the T-45C. Extreme
attention to detail and realism contribute to an amazing overall
product. This is a new visual model complete with self shadowing, bump
mapping and photo-real hi-res textures. The virtual dynamic cockpit is
workable and features 3D gauges. The flight model is reasonably accurate
and realistic. Checklists, specifications and complete documentation are
included.
The T-45 Goshawk is a fully carrier-capable version of
the Hawk Mk.60. It was developed for the United States Navy (USN) for
use in training. BAE Systems manufactures the fuselage aft of the
cockpit, the air inlets, the vertical stabilizer of the T-45 at
Samlesbury, and the wings at Brough, England. Boeing manufactures the
remainder of the aircraft and assembles them in St. Louis, Missouri.
The T-45 has been used for intermediate and advanced
portions of the Navy/Marine Corps strike pilot training program with
Training Air Wing ONE at Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi and
Training Air Wing TWO at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. The T-45's
A and C models are currently in operational use. The T-45A, which became
operational in 1991, contains an analog cockpit design while the newer
T-45C, which was first delivered in December 1997, features a new
digital "glass cockpit" design. All T-45A aircraft will eventually be
converted to a T-45C configuration under the T-45 Required Avionics
Modernization Program (T-45 RAMP).. (Source: Wikipedia.)

This month we feature Cessna Citation X by
Rajiv DeYoung, Daisuke Yamamoto, Garry J. Smith, and Toshikazu Shimizu.
Includes high resolution textures, fully functional VC, realistic
flight-dynamics and operations. A completely modeled interior allows for
in-flight cabin roaming with a "passenger seat" camera definition. This
is a very unique aircraft, with a flight-dynamic envelope nearly
impossible to model within FSX's limitations.
The Cessna Citation X is a long range medium business
jet aircraft. The X is the fastest operative civilian jet with a top
speed of Mach 0.92 (700 mph, 1131 km/h at 41,000ft ASL (12,700meters ASL).
This also makes it the fastest business jet in history. Although based
on the earlier Citation III, VI and VII models the Citation X is a
significantly different airplane. It utilizes a totally new wing design,
engines, and features a glass cockpit.
The first Citation X was delivered in June 1996 to
golfer and long-time Cessna customer Arnold Palmer. Once in use, the
Citation X continued to set speed records. Arnold Palmer set one of them
in September 1997: 473 knots (876 km/h) on a 5,000 km closed course.
The aircraft incorporates a number of innovative
design features. One attribute that is often first noticed is the large
diameter of the engine intakes. This feature, related to the high bypass
ratio turbofan, reduces the noise from the engines and improves fuel
efficiency. Another obvious characteristic is the highly swept wing with
a supercritical airfoil, used in order to increase the critical Mach
number and therefore the top speed. The Citation X has 37 degrees of
sweepback at the quarter chord, more than any other business jet. (Source: Wikipedia.)

This month we feature Super Hornet RAAF 20th Birthday by
Rajiv DeYoung, Daisuke Yamamoto, Garry J. Smith, and Toshikazu Shimizu.
This package contains 3 paint schemes and a total of 39 variations of
the Super Hornet. This is a representation of the real-life F/A-18 E
Super Hornet that flew to the Atsugi Airbase. A full assortment of
animated parts is featured including launch bar, air refueling probe and
tail hook. The virtual cockpit is intended to be as real as possible and
many items
are clickable: landing gear lever, folding wings lever, tail hook
control, navigation lights, strobe, beacon and panel lights. The Super
Hornet's STOL feature, maneuverability, agility and stability are
modeled in the flight dynamics.
The Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a 4.5+
generation[3] carrier-based Multirole fighter aircraft. The F/A-18E
single-seat variant and F/A-18F tandem-seat variant are larger and more
advanced derivatives of the F/A-18C and D Hornet. The Super Hornet has
an internal 20 mm gun and can carry air-to-air missiles and
air-to-surface weapons. Additional fuel can be carried with up to five
external fuel tanks and the aircraft can be configured as an airborne
tanker by adding an external air refueling system.
The Super Hornet is a larger and more advanced variant
of the F/A-18C/D Hornet. An early version was marketed by McDonnell
Douglas as Hornet 2000 in the 1980s. The Hornet 2000 concept was an
advanced version of the F/A-18 with a larger wing, longer fuselage to
carry more fuel and more powerful engines. The U.S. Navy currently flies
both the F/A-18E single-seater and F/A-18F two-seater in combat roles,
taking the place of the retired F-14, A-6 Intruder, S-3 Viking, and
KA-6D. An electronic warfare variant, the EA-18G Growler, will replace
the aging EA-6B Prowler. (Source: Wikipedia.)

This month we feature North American Rockwell OV-10A by
Tim Conrad, Danny Garnier. This is the original OV-10A by
Tim Conrad tweaked to run optimally in Flight Simulator X. Included are
five paint schemes: USN, USMC, 20th TASS, Moroccan Air Force 1980's, 40
Squadron, Barcelona, Venezuelan Air Force 1973. This is a full package
with working virtual cockpit.
The original concept of a small, simple aircraft that could operate
close to the supported troops had been almost completely eviscerated by
the 'system.' The ability to operate from roads (20 ft span and 6.5
tread) had been ignored, and performance compromised by the short 30 ft
span, the extra 1000 lb for the rough field landing gear and another
1000 lb of electronics. The "light, simple" airplane also had a full
complement of instruments, ejection seats and seven external store
stations. The concept of using ground ordnance and a bomb bay had been
ignored, although it did have provisions for four M60 [medium] machine
guns. In spite of this growth (almost double the size and weight of our
home built), the YOV-10 still had great potential. It would not achieve
the advantages of integration with the ground scheme of maneuver, but it
did have capabilities at the low end of the performance envelope that
were still valuable and unique.
Visually, the OV-10 has a central nacelle containing
pilots and cargo, and twin booms containing twin turboprop engines. The
visually-distinctive item of the aircraft is the combination of the twin
booms, with the horizontal stabilizer that connects them. (Source: Wikipedia.)

This month we feature Baron325 Baron58TC by
Brett Henderson, S. Schaeffer and J. Giffin. More than a
simple repaint of the stock Flight Simulator Baron, this package has
extensive modifications. The paint scheme is based on a real Baron and
features a high level of detail including chrome parts, turbo slots,
signs and logos, reflections, outside views on engines, and a very
realistic high performance CFG-File and finally a special created,
powerful but smooth running brand new turbo normalized sound set. This
is a Baron 58TC long-body with turbo-charged engines rated at 325 hp.
The progenitor of the Baron was the Beechcraft 95 Travel Air, which
incorporated the fuselage of the Bonanza and the tail control surfaces
of the T-34 Mentor military trainer. To create the new airplane, Beech
replaced the Travel Air's tail with that of the Beechcraft Debonair,
streamlined the engine nacelles and rechristened the aircraft as the
Baron.
In 2008 a new Baron costs roughly $1,000,000. Since
its inception, the Baron has always been near the top of the light
airplane hierarchy. As expensive to operate as it is to buy, the 'next
step up' from a Baron is a very big one. Faster aircraft, with greater
range and more load-carrying capability are generally turbine-powered
and far more expensive. (Source: Wikipedia.)

This month we feature de Havilland Dash 8-100 by
Chris Evans and FS Sound Design Group.
This top-notch package includes 3 paint schemes: black,
red and blue. The aircraft is fully animated and features a
standard 2D panel as well as a virtual cockpit. Turboprop jet sounds are
included.
The Dash 8 aircraft is a series of twin-engined, medium range, turboprop
airliners. Introduced by de Havilland Canada (DHC) in 1984, they are now
produced by Bombardier Aerospace. Distinguishing features of the Dash 8
design are the large T-tail intended to keep the tail free of prop wash
during takeoff, a very high aspect ratio wing, the elongated engine
nacelles also holding the rearward-folding landing gear, and the pointed
nose profile. First flight was on 20 June 1983, and the airliner entered
service in 1984.
Over 1000 Dash 8s of all models have been built. he
Dash 8-100 is no longer in production, with the last Dash 8-102 built in
2005. Production of the Q200 and Q300 will cease in May 2009. Bombardier
has singled out the Q400 for more aggressive marketing, launching a
website centered around the aircraft.[12] The aircraft is also being
considered for a further stretched version (currently designated Q400X)
to compete in the 90-seat market range.

This month we feature Sopwith Camel by David
Eckert and Mark Rooks. This is the
premier example of the most famous fighter of WW1. There are only 7
Camels left in the world today. All of these are permanently in museums
in various stages of originality. This is the only well documented
original flyable Camel. This is the only remaining one that was built by Sopwith.
Intended as a replacement for the Sopwith Pup, the Camel prototype first
flew in December 1916. The aircraft was armed with two .303 in (7.7 mm)
Vickers machine guns mounted in the cowl, firing forward through the
propeller disc. A fairing surrounding the gun installation created a
hump that led to the name Camel. Approximately 5,490 units were
ultimately produced. Agility in combat made the Camel one of the
best-remembered Allied aircraft of the First World War.

This month we feature Hawker Hurricane IId by
Touch the Sky Simulations, Robert Sanderson. This package
features a complex model with fully animated parts,
detailed and animated pilot figure, removable cowlings and panels,
Merlin XX engine and interior fuselage details, visual effects that
include crash landings, complex virtual cockpit with clickable controls,
custom gauges, and engine damage modeling. The model has accurate flight dynamics, with realistic
stalls, and spins with autorotation.
Complete checklist and reference sheets are included along with robust
documentation in PDF format!
A new-build version of what was known as the Mk IID
started in 1942, including additional armor for the pilot, radiator and
engine. The aircraft were initially supplied with a Rolls-Royce gun and
carried 12 rounds, but soon changed to the Vickers S 40mm gun with 15
rounds. The weight of guns and armor protection marginally impacted the
aircraft's performance.
The IID undertook an anti-tank role in limited numbers during the North
African campaign where, provided enemy flak and fighters were absent,
they proved accurate and highly effective, not only against armored
vehicles but all motor transport. (Source: Wikipedia.)

This month we feature Lockheed L-1649A Starliner by
Manfred Jahn, Hansjoerg Naegele, Roland Berger, and Howard Sodja.
This version (2.2) features 2D day and night panels, windshield wipers,
revised flame effects, re-styled autopilot, refined flight dynamics,
final approach altitude and decision height callouts, and an alternate
"no VC" model for slow PCs.
Providing accommodation for ninety-two tourist-class or
twenty-six first-class and forty-five tourist-class passengers, the
Starliner entered service with TWA in May 1957. It was designed to fly
Los Angeles-London and Paris-Tokyo in 20-plus hours non-stop. Other
major operators included Air France and Lufthansa.
The Constellation's wing was effectively the same as
that of the P-38 Lightning, differing only in scale. The distinctive
triple tail kept the aircraft's overall height low enough so that it
could fit in existing hangars, while new features included
hydraulically-boosted controls and a thermal de-icing system used on
wing and tail leading edges. The new plane could achieve top speeds of
over 340 miles per hour, a cruise speed of 300 mph, and a service
ceiling of 24,000 feet. (Source: Wikipedia.)

A-7EH Corsair II Helenic Air
Force by DSB/IRIS,
Jason Sparkes, Thanasis Delizisis,
Panagiotis Delizisis, Chris
Alevritis, and Roland Laborie.
What is the A-7 Corsair II? It is a
United States built, single-seat,
single-engine, long-range attack
aircraft and it entered service with
the Hellenic Air Force in 1975.
A-7s have been
widely used by the USAF in various
conflicts, including the Vietnam
War, the Libya strikes in 1986, the
US intervention in Grenada in 1983
and the invasion of Panama in 1989.
During Desert Storm, it demonstrated
more than 95% operational readiness
and didn't miss a single combat
sortie. In the Hellenic Air Force
they were initially based in the Air
Bases of Larissa (347 Squadron "Perseas")
and Souda (340 and 345 Squadrons,
"Fox" and "Lailaps" respectively).
The Ling-Temco-Vought
A-7 Corsair II is a carrier-based
subsonic light attack aircraft
introduced to replace the United
States Navy's A-4 Skyhawk, initially
entering service during the Vietnam
War. The A-7 airframe design was
based on the successful supersonic
F-8 Crusader produced by Chance
Vought. It was one of the first
combat aircraft to feature a head-up
display (HUD), an inertial
navigation system (INS), and a
turbofan engine. (Source:
